• Third-Party Authentication: If you sign in with Apple, we receive the basic profile information that provider shares with us. Apple's Hide My Email is fully supported.
• Usage Data: We collect anonymised data about how the app is used — session length, screens visited, and which features are opened — to understand what to improve.
• Learning Data: Your vocabulary progress, review history, grades, saved lists, and streak information are stored to power your personalised review schedule.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To deliver and improve the Better Español service, including personalised word recommendations and spaced repetition scheduling.
• To send notifications such as daily reminders, streak updates, and review nudges — all of which you can turn off at any time.
• To keep lock screen and home screen widgets stocked with your daily vocabulary.
• To analyse aggregated, anonymised usage trends so we can improve the app for everyone.

4. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Data is stored on secure servers using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Device Permissions & Widgets

Better Español requests device permissions to enable features such as lock screen widgets, notifications, and pronunciation playback. Background refresh is used solely to keep your widgets stocked with fresh vocabulary. We do not access data on your device beyond what these features require.

6. Children's Privacy

Better Español is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at aarontiberjohn@proton.me. We will process your request within 30 days.
